Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is a disorder that causes unusual shifts in one’s energy, mood, and ability to function. While many experience the normal ups and downs of life, the symptoms of bipolar disorder are severe. You may experience very low moods (depression episodes) and other times, very high and elated moods (manic episodes). During these manic episodes, you may act impulsively or engage in risky behaviour. This can result in damaged relationships as well as poor work or school performance.

For more information, please consult with your Family Physician. Learn more about Bipolar Disorder at the Mood Disorders Society of Canada (https://mdsc.ca/) or the Canadian Mental Health Association (http://www.cmha.ca/).
